Last Chance to Help Rebuild Thames Street Park Playground

Just 5 weeks left to go to raise $50,000

The Friends of Thames Street Park need your help to renovate the children’s playground! Baltimore City’s Department of Recreation and Parks has secured funding to upgrade the playground equipment and we’ve been challenged to raise an additional $50k to complete the project.

We've raised $15k so far and have just 5 weeks left to reach our goal of $50k by December 31, 2014.

More and more families remain committed to raising children in the city and this renovation will provide play areas for various age groups while preserving the only green space for free play in the neighborhood, which over 100 downtown families listed as most important in a survey conducted by the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance.

All funds raised will be used to replace aging equipment, install safety surfacing, and bring the perimeter fencing up to code. The current playground equipment was installed more than 15 years ago, the wood chips do not provide significant cushion to protect falling children, and the fence posts are currently too wide, creating a safety hazard for children.

Donate now and help us make this an incredible playground for years to come.

Every day, residents and tourists can be found enjoying Fell’s Point’s only park. Whether strolling through the park with their pet, relaxing with friends on a bench, or enjoying the playground with their children, Thames Street Park has become central to the revitalization and growth of our neighborhood.
